GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - The Greenville County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a hit-and-run as 16-year-old Isaiah James McGuiness.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol tells multiple media outlets they are trying to find the driver of a late-1990s black or silver Lexus sedan who left the scene after hitting and killing the Greenville teen early Monday morning

Officials say the coroner’s office had to use DNA comparison to identity McGuinness because he carried no identification, nor did his fingerprints show up on a data base search. Students at Berea High School held a vigil for their sophomore classmate.

Anyone in the area at the time of the collision is asked to contact the patrol at 864-241-1000.
