LAS VEGAS (AP) - Nevada transportation officials say a section of Interstate 15 north of Las Vegas is ready for traffic again after suffering damage during a late-September flash flood.

The department announced Wednesday that repairs to the road finished two days early and lanes were expected to open later that afternoon.

Traffic on the portion of road about 75 miles north of Las Vegas and south of Mesquite has been limited to one lane each way since repairs started Sept. 30.

State transportation engineer Mary Martini says finishing two days early is worth $4 million to businesses that rely on the interstate.
