PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - The National Weather Service says winds that reached about 40 mph damaged trees and fences in the Willamette Valley community of Woodburn, Oregon.

The Oregonian reports (https://is.gd/48fz8u ) that forecaster Jeremiah Pyle in Portland says the worst of the storm hit early Wednesday afternoon.

Forecasters say Wednesday’s showers will fade away as high pressure builds over the Pacific Northwest and Thursday’s outlook is mostly dry.
