LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming senior forward Kayla Woodward has been named the 2014-15 Mountain West Preseason Player of the Year.

It is the second year in a row Woodward has been recognized with the designation.

Cowboy Larry Nance Jr. was tabbed the Preseason Player of the Year on the men’s side. It is the first time in Mountain West history Wyoming has earned both accolades.

The Cowgirl basketball team was picked to finish third as the conference announced its 2014-15 preseason women’s basketball poll and all-conference team this week.

Woodward is a native of Sheridan. She was a first-team All-Mountain West selection last season and was named to the 2014 conference All-Tournament Team.
