BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - Jets will return to the South Mississippi sky in the spring when the Keesler air show returns after four years.

Keesler Air Force Base announced Thursday the shows are scheduled for April 11-12.

Keesler spokesman Jerry Taranto tells The Sun Herald (https://bit.ly/1zeISdP) the performers will be announced later.

The shows were stopped in 2011 because of federal budget cuts, but Taranto said the restrictions are being loosened.

The last two shows were in 2009 and 2011, drawing 142,000 and 160,000 people to the base.

Taranto said when the opportunity presented itself, the base jumped at the chance to bring the shows back to Mississippi.
