BAY MINETTE, Ala. (AP) - Baldwin County jurors have convicted a man arrested during an investigation into a child sex ring.

A jury convicted 50-year-old William Brownlee of Eight Mile of sexual abuse and sodomy on Thursday.

The victim is now 16. She told jurors she was about 12 when a relative began forcing her to perform sexual acts with Brownlee.

Two other alleged victims of Brownlee also testified.

Brownlee is one of about a dozen people arrested following the disappearance of 19-year-old Brittney Wood in 2012.

Authorities investigating her disappearance say they uncovered evidence that her relatives and family friends were swapping children back and forth for sex.

Wood was last seen with uncle Donald Holland, who killed himself after she disappeared. Brownlee was a friend of Holland.

Wood remains missing.
