BOYERTOWN, Pa. (AP) - The discovery of two dead men in a parked vehicle near state game lands in eastern Pennsylvania has prompted an investigation by state police and the Berks County coroner’s office.

State police said Friday that 27-year-old Stephen Edward Mixon and 20-year-old Joseph Emanuel McCullough III, both of Pottstown, died of apparent gunshot wounds. They say the initial investigation indicates no one else was involved in the crime and that public safety was not jeopardized.

Authorities say the bodies were discovered by a school bus driver who came upon the vehicle around 6:15 a.m. Friday.

Autopsies were scheduled to be conducted Saturday morning.
