DECATUR, Ga. (AP) - DeKalb County officials are hosting a public domestic violence symposium and are collecting used cellphones to donate to victims.

County Solicitor-General Sherry Boston is hosting the symposium Oct. 23 at the Manuel Maloof Auditorium in downtown Decatur.

Organizers say the event is expected to include a resource fair and a program featuring a domestic violence survivor, experts on the issue and group discussions.

Organizers say those who are unable to attend the symposium are still encouraged to donate used cellphones at the Solicitor-General’s Office on the fifth floor of the DeKalb County Courthouse.
