DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - An 18-year-old Drake University student has been arrested for posting threats of gun violence on a social media website.

Michael Zachary Crisp has been charged with first-degree harassment. He has posted bond and has been released from the Polk County Jail after his arrest at 3 a.m. Friday.

Des Moines Police spokesman Jason Halifax says a message posted on the social media site Yik Yak threatened that “Columbine will look like childs play.” a reference to the April 1999 shooting at a Colorado high school in which 13 people died.

Halifax says detectives worked with Yik Yak administrators and Drake officials to trace the messages to Crisp, who admitted sending the threats when police confronted him.

Court case information wasn’t immediately available to determine if he has an attorney.
