ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A Kirtland man has been sentenced to 30 months in federal prison for statutory rape.

Prosecutors say 24-year-old Justin Chee also was sentenced Friday to five years of supervised release after serving his prison term.

Chee also will be required to register as a sex offender after he completes his sentence.

He was arrested in March on a criminal complaint alleging that he engaged in a sexual act with a Jicarilla Apache teenager in August 2012.

The gender of the 14-year-old victim wasn’t immediately available Friday.

Chee subsequently was indicted and charged with statutory rape.

Prosecutors say he pleaded guilty to the indictment in June.
