BENTON, Ill. (AP) - An Ohio man formerly from southern Illinois is accused of using hacked online accounts to harass and extort women. He allegedly threatened to post sexually explicit photos of the women on Internet pages.

A federal grand jury in Benton, Illinois indicted 23-year-old Stephen Mislich of Bowling Green, Ohio on two counts each of computer-related harassment and extortion.

The former Altamont, Illinois, man is accused of engaging in what investigators called a pattern of terrorizing women via hacked online accounts. Authorities say he misappropriated sexually oriented photos of the women and tried to coerce them into giving him other such pictures and videos of them.

Investigators say Mislich has been a Bowling Green University graduate assistant.

A message Thursday with his St. Louis attorney, Daniel Juengel, was not immediately returned.
