BROOKHAVEN, Miss. (AP) - A Brookhaven man has been denied bond on charges related to a fatal accident in which two high school football players died.

Prosecutors say 18-year-old Charles Acy is charged with two counts of vehicular homicide in the deaths of Shaquan Richardson and Javonta Dickey.

The Daily Leader reports (https://bit.ly/1pl6Fzp ) Acy made an initial court appearance Thursday. He is represented by a public defender. No trial date has been set.

Authorities say Acy’s Hummer collided head-on Tuesday with a Ford F-150 in which two players were riding.

Richardson and Dickey, both 18 and seniors at Brookhaven, had just left a softball game when the accident occurred.

Acy is being held in the Lincoln County jail.

If convicted of vehicular homicide, Acy could be sentenced to a maximum of 25 years.
