ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Florida gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist ended a busy campaign week by getting a visit from Michelle Obama.

The first lady headlined a rally of 700 hundred supporters Friday in Orlando for the Democratic candidate. They were scheduled to hold an evening rally Friday in South Florida.

Crist drew laughs in referencing the uproar generated earlier in the week surrounding a portable fan he used during a debate with Gov. Rick Scott. Scott didn’t initially take the stage after of a dispute over the fan.

Obama said help of people like Crist during President Obama’s first term were beneficial in the progress he made on initiatives like women’s rights and health care. She urged supporters to vote early and to “knock on some doors for Charlie like you did for Barack.”
