NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police have charged a woman and her boyfriend in the death of the woman’s 4-year-old daughter in a New Castle motel.

Twenty-six-year-old Tanasia Milligan of New Castle and 35-year-old Willie Reeder of Wilmington were arrested Thursday. They are each charged with murder by abuse or neglect, recklessly causing the death of a child and conspiracy.

Troopers were called on Aug. 8 to the Budget Motor Lodge on South DuPont Highway in New Castle. Officers say they found 4-year-old Autumn Milligan dead on the floor of the room where the child was staying with Tanasia Milligan and Reeder.

Police say the state medical examiner ruled the cause of death was homicide by blunt force trauma.
