MCDONOUGH, Ga. (AP) - Police in Henry County say two women died in an early morning crash in which one was driving in the wrong direction on Interstate 75.

Police say the collision happened shortly early Friday, in the far left southbound lane of Interstate 75 in Henry County, near the Jonesboro Road exit.

Police say 51-year-old Sherry Williams of Atlanta was driving north in the southbound lanes of the interstate when she collided with a car driven by 23-year-old Christina Rearley of Palmetto, Florida.

Rearley was pronounced dead at the scene. Williams was flown to a hospital, where she later died.

Police say two passengers in Williams’ car, a 15-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl, were taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston to be treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
