ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Authorities say an argument between an Albuquerque mother and her adult daughter turned violent when the daughter threw food at her mother, pulled her hair and hit her mom with a stove burner grate.

The Albuquerque Journal reports (https://goo.gl/LRLP2Y) the bizarre dispute Sunday resulted in the arrest for 33-year-old Celeste Ramirez Garivay from a fight that started in a kitchen.

According to a criminal complaint, Agripina Ramirez says Garivay took food out of the refrigerator and threw food at her when the mom asked about the whereabouts of another daughter. Police say Garivay then grabbed her mother’s hair and the two fought.

Ramirez told police she bit her daughter to try to get away from her.

Both were taken to nearby hospitals.

Garivay was charged with aggravated battery against a household member.

It was not known if she had an attorney.
