CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A church in North Charleston is hosting a free conference on domestic violence education and prevention.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reports (https://bit.ly/1rWzEiD ) that the three-day event entitled “Uniting the Pastors, Equipping the Clergy and Gathering God’s People” gets underway Friday at the Life Center Cathedral.

The conference is open to any clergy, lay members, victim advocates, law enforcement, victims, politicians, social workers and others interested in addressing the problem.

Events include a march and demonstration, as well as a service to honor domestic violence survivors. Organizers say this is the third year the church has hosted the conference.
