LEANDER, Texas (AP) - Central Texas authorities say a bus driver has been arrested on suspicion of driving drunk while children were onboard.

Leander Independent School District spokeswoman Veronica Sopher tells KXAN-TV (https://bit.ly/1sWzPKm ) the bus was transporting kids home from River Ridge Elementary School on Thursday. She says the female driver struck a curb and a tree branch that damaged the bus. Another vehicle was dispatched to take the kids home.

No injuries were reported.

A homeowner called the Travis County Sheriff’s Office to report the driver ran over a brick mailbox.

Fifth grader Sasha Young says the driver was acting erratic and also hit a fire hydrant, some trees and a cactus.

The Travis County Sheriff’s Office says the driver was arrested Thursday. Her identity hasn’t been released.
