BOSTON (AP) - The suspect in a 2012 shooting of a former Army sniper in Boston’s Theater District has been added to the U.S. Marshals most wanted list.

Federal marshals announced Friday that Peter Castillo has been added to the list.

Castillo is the prime suspect in the May 2012 shooting of 22-year-old Stephen Perez of Revere.

Police say Perez was shot in the back just before 2 a.m. after an altercation at a club. Perez, who served in Afghanistan and Iraq, was attending Bunker Hill Community College and planned a career in law enforcement.

A warrant has been issued for Castillo’s arrest. The marshals say he has a violent criminal past and should be considered armed and dangerous. Castillo may have fled to the Dominican Republic.
