LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - A five-member University of Wyoming petroleum engineering team is the No. 1 ranked team heading into the 13th international PetroBowl.

The event is scheduled for Oct. 27 in Amsterdam.

A total of 36 universities from around the world will compete for top prizes in the event that tests students’ knowledge of the oil and gas industry.

Universities represented in the tournament include Stanford University, Brigham Young University and the University of Oklahoma.

Other countries sending teams include Brazil, China, Indonesia, Mexico, Nigeria, Norway and Saudi Arabia.

The UW petroleum engineering team is making only its third appearance in the event.
