OCEAN ISLE BEACH, N.C. (AP) - Oyster lovers will be turning their attention this weekend to Ocean Isle Beach, where a festival is expected to draw at least 30,000 people.

The StarNews of Wilmington reports (https://bit.ly/1p9hTGT) visitors are expected to consume an estimated 200 bushels during the 34th annual North Carolina Oyster Festival, which will be held Saturday and Sunday in Brunswick County.

New events this year include an oyster-eating contest that will pit shuckers against a dozen raw oysters in timed heats. Winners will advance through a tournament bracket, facing another 12 oysters.

The festival also will feature events from previous years, including oyster-shucking and oyster stew contests.
