JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Mississippi corrections officials say an officer at the South Mississippi Correctional Institution in Leakesville faces two felony charges for allegedly heading in to work with contraband: three cell phones, two chargers and a controlled substance known as spice.

In a news release, the state corrections department said the items were found in the officer’s state-issued jacket during a screening.

The department said 23-year-old Zackery Brown of Jackson was booked Thursday night with introduction of cellphones and introduction of a controlled substance into a correctional facility. He was taken to the Greene County jail and was awaiting the setting of bond Friday. It was unclear if he had an attorney.
