ROME, Ga. (AP) - A jury in Rome has convicted a man in a shooting that left another man dead on New Year’s Eve in 2012.

Jurors on Friday convicted 28-year-old Dewayne Labron Reynolds of felony murder, aggravated assault and illegal possession of a gun.

The Rome News Tribune (https://bit.ly/1t0DibR ) reports Reynolds was acquitted of malice murder.

Reynolds was charged in a shooting that left 56-year-old Willie Terry Slack dead on the front porch of a home.

Two other men are accused of murder, assault and weapons charges in the slaying. Some of the men have incriminated each other, leading prosecutors to request separate trials.

Reynolds is the first to go on trial.
