BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A jury in Baton Rouge has convicted a motorist in connection with a 2012 accident that killed one bicyclist and seriously injured another.

A six-person jury convicted Joseph Branch of vehicular homicide and negligent injuring. The Advocate (https://bit.ly/ZyBWry) reports that jurors deliberated for an hour before delivering the verdict on Friday.

A police lieutenant had testified that Branch had a blood-alcohol level of .308 percent at the time of the Jan. 21, 2012, crash.

Sentencing was set for Dec. 17.
