COCHRAN, Ga. (AP) - Middle Georgia State College has inaugurated its first permanent president.

The college held a ceremony Friday installing Christopher Blake to the position he previously held on an interim basis.

Middle Georgia is based in Macon with campuses in five cities in all. It was formed last year from the merger of Macon State College and Middle Georgia College into a single, regional university.

The college has an enrollment of almost 9,000 students in undergraduate programs.

Blake says school leaders will take a proposal for graduate programs to the Board of Regents this fall.
