COLFAX, La. (AP) - State police say a 66-year-old Colfax man died when he was ejected from his truck after it was hit by a train.

Master Trooper Scott Moreau says Drewey Holsomback wasn’t wearing his seat belt Wednesday afternoon when he failed to yield to the train as he was driving on Hodnett Road near Louisiana Highway 8 east of Colfax. Moreau say Holsomback’s pickup was hit on the passenger’s side by a Kansas City Southern train.

He says Holsomback was pronounced dead at the scene.
