DULTUH, Minn. (AP) - A Duluth hiking trail on the Lake Superior College campus has reopened to the public after two years of repairs.

WDIO-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1uDhFPe ) students and staff members gathered to celebrate the restoration of the Miller Creek Interpretive Trail on Wednesday, even though it was raining. The trail was destroyed by flooding in 2012.

Community members have worked to restore the damage by building new bridges and adding stream-monitoring equipment.

College biology instructor Glenn Merrick says Miller Creek has a self-sustaining brook trout population and the trail shows the value of the area’s ravines.
