FREDERICK, Md. (AP) - The Frederick County Commission for Women is leading an event that aims to raise public awareness of human trafficking in the area.
Other sponsors of the presentation Thursday night in downtown Frederick include the county’s human relations commission, the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and the Heartly House shelter for victims of domestic violence.
They say human trafficking is increasing in the Frederick community.
The organizers say they want to help foster a local approach to preventing human trafficking and providing services to victims.
