POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (AP) - A 29-year-old man has been ordered to stand trial on accusations that he strangled his girlfriend at a downtown apartment building in the southeast Missouri town of Poplar Bluff.

The Poplar Bluff Daily American Republic (https://bit.ly/14xhyUm ) reports that Butler County Associate Circuit Judge John Bloodworth this week found probable cause in the case of Jeremy Allen Winkle. He is charged with second-degree murder. Winkle lists addresses in Paragould, Arkansas, and Senath, Missouri.

The crime happened on May 19, when 28-year-old Tiffani Noles of Paragould was killed.

There was no answer Thursday at a phone listing for Winkle’s attorney.
