ST. JOHNS, Mich. (AP) - Officials are trying to figure out who built an unauthorized plastic-lined water slide into a hillside at a Michigan park.

The Lansing State Journal reports (https://on.lsj.com/1vzIz8A ) a channel was dug to create the slide that goes into a lake at the park in Clinton County, roughly 20 miles north of Lansing.

Officials say the slide was built last weekend. Also, the weekend of Sept. 20-21, someone built a shelter on the hillside at the park, damaging vegetation.

The Parks and Green Space Commission recently spent $40,000 to complete landscape improvements at the county park and the damage has set back work at the park. The county wants anyone with information about the incidents to contact the sheriff’s office.
