BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department says a man found dead along Alabama 269 had been stabbed to death.

Spokesman Randy Christian says state transportation workers were repairing guard rails Wednesday afternoon when they discovered the body of 33-year-old Deltric Mills of Birmingham.

Christian says a homicide investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s office.

The body was found near where Alabama 269 intersects with Short Creek Road.
