BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - U.S. Marshals say a suspect in the kidnapping and slaying of a metro Atlanta couple has been arrested in Birmingham, Alabama.

Marshals spokesman Gavin Duffy says 41-year-old Richard Wilson was arrested Thursday morning. Duffy says authorities worked from an anonymous tip that Wilson was acting strangely in a pawn shop while trying to sell weapons. Duffy says Wilson was also wanted in another homicide and for federal probation violations.

Wilson is accused of being involved in the kidnapping and deaths of 21-year-old Briana Brooks and her 24-year-old boyfriend Jeronta Brown. Police have said Brooks was pregnant at the time of the shooting and delivered the couple’s baby premature before she died.

It’s unclear is Wilson has an attorney. A second man, Andre Gaye, has already been arrested in the shootings.
