FLOYD, Iowa (AP) - A trial date has been set for the man charged with killing a 5-year-old northern Iowa girl in 2005.

The Mason City Globe Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1rzjMCs ) that 35-year-old Casey Frederiksen will stand trial on March 2 for first-degree murder and first-degree sexual abuse.

Frederiksen is charged in the death of Evelyn Miller. Prosecutors say he was watching Evelyn at the time of her disappearance. Her body was found in the Cedar River days later.

The trial had previously been set to begin Sept. 15 in Webster City in Hamilton County after the court granted a change of venue from Floyd County.

The judge in the case has not yet issued a ruling on a defense motion to keep information about Frederiksen’s history of collecting child pornography from the jury.
