Two women were arrested Sunday in clashes between football fans and Ferguson protesters after the St. Louis Rams beat the visiting Seattle Seahawks.

About 3 p.m., two groups of about 20 to 25 people began arguing outside the Edward Jones Dome, police said. The yelling between Rams fans and protesters escalated and a fight broke out after a fan appeared to spit on one of the protesters, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

At one point in the chaos, a protester carrying an upside-down American flag on a pole used the pole as a weapon and attempted to jab a fan with it, the newspaper said. A different fan reportedly took the flag away and ran with it before protesters wrestled it back.

Two women were arrested and two others injured, police said. One of the women injured said she was punched in the face after chanting “Let’s go Rams” to protesters. Police did not provide details on the second victim’s injuries, the Post-Dispatch reported.
