BRIGHTON, Colo. (AP) - A man has been sentenced to 32 years in prison for his role in the killing of a security guard at a Denver area nightclub.

Prosecutors say 33-year-old Gerald Michael Anthony Gurule was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty in June to reckless manslaughter and first-degree assault. Authorities say he went to the Grizzly Rose in December 2008, planning to break into cars in the parking lot. Prosecutors say Gurule opened fire when confronted by security guards, killing Timothy Minnick.

A woman who drove the getaway car was sentenced in May to life in prison. The case went cold until a grand jury indictment last year.

District Attorney Dave Young says the case was difficult and he is satisfied with the outcome.
