HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) - A 55-year-old man found dead at the Henderson city jail was on probation and could have faced four years in prison after his arrest last week on a driving under the influence charge in Boulder City.

The Clark County coroner identified the dead man on Monday as John Francis Mannion of Henderson.

A cause and manner of death wasn’t immediately determined.

Henderson city officials call it an apparent suicide. They say Mannion was found unresponsive about 4:30 p.m. Sunday with a bed sheet around his neck, and couldn’t be revived.

Boulder City police Sgt. John Glenn says Mannion was arrested Thursday after driving erratically and crashing into roadside objects.

Attorney William Terry says he represented Mannion in felony methamphetamine possession cases that resulted in a three-year probation sentence in January.
