SEMINOLE, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says its agents are investigating the shooting of a man by a Seminole police officer.

The OSBI said Monday that the officer shot 43-year-old Dwan Rich of Seminole in the leg as he approached officers with a knife and refused orders to drop the weapon. Rich was taken to an Oklahoma City hospital in undisclosed condition.

The officer’s name has not been released.

The OSBI says the shooting occurred Saturday night after officers were called to a reported domestic disturbance at an apartment complex. The agency says officers found Rich with the knife in a breezeway of the apartment and that officers first shot him with a stun gun, but that he continued approaching the officers until he was shot in the leg.
