ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - One man was killed and another injured after an armed robbery at a South Valley store in which someone in the store apparently fired on the robbers.

The Albuquerque Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1sJ4h9c ) that two armed men robbed the Pajarito Corner Store in the 5200 block of Isleta SW about 6:45 p.m. Monday. The robbers drove away in a silver Mercedes-Benz. The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department says the vehicle crashed into a tree near Isleta and Metzgar Road.

The passenger was pronounced dead of an apparent gunshot wound. The driver was taken to University of New Mexico Hospital with a gunshot wound to his arm.

Sheriff’s department spokesman Sgt. Aaron Williamson says no one was injured at the store. Isleta at Metzgar was closed for several hours.
