TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Two Newark men have admitted their roles in a scheme to smuggle marijuana and cellphones into the Essex County Jail.

Twenty-nine-year-old Darsell Davis pleaded guilty on Monday to conspiring with others to commit extortion under color of official right. Thirty-year-old Dwayne Harper pleaded guilty to conspiring to smuggle contraband into the jail.

Prosecutors say the men aided jail guard Stephen Solomon, who passed the contraband on to an inmate. Solomon pleaded guilty earlier this month.
