DETROIT (AP) - Gov. Rick Snyder’s office has announced 10 appointments to two investment committees of Detroit’s two municipal pension systems.

The General Retirement System investment committee appointees include David Sowerby of Bloomfield Hills.

Sowerby is a portfolio manager of Loomis, Sayles & Co. and served 10 years as chairman on the investment advisory committee for the state of Michigan’s $50 billion pension fund.

Police and Fire Retirement System investment committee appointees include Rebecca Sorenson, senior vice president of investments and wealth adviser with UBS Financial Services. Sorenson is a Birmingham resident.

The state and boards of both pension systems collaborated on the appointments. The committees will develop investment goals for their pension systems.

Members serve terms of two to six years.
