CHELSEA, Mass. (AP) - Police have arrested a man in connection with the death of a Chelsea woman who was struck by a stray bullet last weekend.

The Suffolk district attorney’s office says 20-year-old Hector Ramires is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on charges including murder.

Authorities said 35-year-old Catherine Gomez was shot just after midnight Saturday while looking out her window. Police do not think she was targeted, but was the victim of a stray bullet fired from the street during an altercation between two groups.

Gomez was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second fatal shooting in the city less than two hours after Gomez’s death remains under investigation. Police have said the shootings were unrelated.
