LOS ANGELES (AP) - Forecasters say a large northwest swell will bring big surf to Central Coast beaches.

The National Weather Service says the large surf will arrive Tuesday and continue through Wednesday morning.

The surf is expected to build to 10 feet to 12 feet with local sets to 14 feet on Central Coast beaches, and to 4 feet to 7 feet with local sets to 8 feet in Ventura County. The largest surf is expected Tuesday, on exposed west- to northwest-facing beaches.

The south coast of Santa Barbara County and Los Angeles County beaches can expect elevated conditions, but below high-surf thresholds.

Forecasters warn of the possibility of rip currents and so-called sneaker waves.
