WOODLAND, Calif. (AP) - Authorities are searching for a 37-year-old man who disappeared while driving from Southern California to Seattle.

Sheriff’s officials say Rico Omarr Harris’ black Nissan sedan was found Oct. 13 by a deputy at a park in Yolo County, California.

His mother tells investigators the 37-year-old left her house in Alhambra around 1 a.m. Oct. 10 on his way to see his girlfriend in Washington. He was last heard from later that day when he left a voicemail for his girlfriend at 10:45 a.m.

A search of the park and the surrounding area came up empty.

Officials describe Harris as African-American, 6-foot-9, weighing approximately 280 pounds.

Brett Meister, a spokesman for the Harlem Globetrotters, says Harris played for the team for less than a month in the spring of 2000.
