COLUMBIA, Tenn. (AP) - Police in Columbia say a 22-year-old Papa John’s employee has died after being shot during a robbery.

Officers say the employee, Gordon Schaffer, was the only person in the store when two masked men entered and tried to rob the business on Monday.

WSMV-TV in Nashville reported (https://bit.ly/1zj1RnQ ) that a co-worker was on the phone with Schaffer and heard the shooting before calling police.

Schaffer was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died a short while later.
