BORISOV, Belarus (AP) - Shakhtar Donetsk striker Luiz Adriano accused fans at BATE Borisov of racially abusing him while he scored five goals in a 7-0 victory over the Belarusian club in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Luiz Adriano scored his first three goals within 13 minutes, the third-fastest hat trick in the history of the competition, as Shakhtar took complete control of the Group H game.

But he told Shakhtar’s website that “there were unpleasant shouts, racist ones” aimed at him.

Shakhtar Donetsk became the first team to score six goals in the first half of a Champions League game, putting its homelessness as a result of the Ukrainian conflict aside.

Alex Teixeira and Douglas Costa also scored for Shakhtar.

The win leaves Shakhtar second in group H on five points, two behind Porto, which beat Athletic Bilbao 2-1.

Shakhtar played its previous Champions League match, a schedule a home game against Porto, at Arena Lviv in western Ukraine, more than 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) from Donetsk.

During the conflict, the club’s Donbass Arena has been shelled and its Donetsk headquarters raided by armed men.
