BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A New York woman enrolled in a court’s drug treatment program is accused of trying to sell heroin to other enrollees.

Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita says 24-year-old Rickita Minor now faces up to 27 years in prison after pleading guilty Monday to three counts of drug possession.

Sedita says police began investigating Minor after hearing that she was soliciting fellow enrollees of the town of Cheektowaga’s drug treatment court to buy heroin from her.

Drug courts usually give defendants a chance for a reduced sentence in exchange for their agreement to enter court-supervised treatment.
