AKRON, Ohio (AP) - A former doctor in northeastern Ohio will face sentencing in January after pleading guilty to illegally distributing painkillers and pills to his patients.

Two of the former doctor’s also entered guilty pleas on Monday while another had already pleaded guilty earlier this year.

Federal authorities say 64-year-old Dr. Adolph Harper Jr. of Akron and his employees distributed hundreds of thousands of doses of prescription drugs from 2009 to 2012.

Prosecutors say that the doctor’s employees also would write orders for painkillers for themselves or patients when the doctor wasn’t in the office.

A message seeking comment was left with Harper’s attorney on Monday.
