HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (AP) - Fans attending next year’s RBC Heritage PGA golf tournament on Hilton Head Island will pay $5 more for daily tickets.

The Island Packet of Hilton Head reports (https://bit.ly/1rprx8a ) that it’s the first price increase since daily passes were first offered in 2011. Tournament director Steve Wilmot said the increase will help the tournament cover the cost of bleachers as well as security personnel and transportation.

The daily tickets start at $40 for practice rounds, $55 for Thursday and Sunday rounds and $65 for Friday and Saturday access.

Next year’s tournament will be held from April 16 to 19 at Hilton Head Island’s Harbour Town Golf Links.

Tournament officials announced last month that last spring’s event had an economic impact of more than $96 million.
