BEEVILLE, Texas (AP) - More than a dozen suspects have been arrested in what investigators call a South Texas theft ring linked to drugs and weapons.

The Bee County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday announced 14 people face charges including engaging in organized criminal activity and manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance.

Deputies have recovered about $130,000 in property reported stolen in Bee, Goliad and Aransas (uh-RAN’-zuhs) counties. Several guns and methamphetamine were confiscated.

Vehicles and electronic equipment were among the items stolen. Authorities have linked three Pettus Independent School District burglaries to the ring.

The suspects are from Beeville, Pettus and Mineral. Sheriff’s Lt. John Davis says more arrests are expected.
