GERVAIS, Ore. (AP) - The Marion County sheriff’s office says a 13-year-old boy who had been walking on railroad tracks south of Gervais, Oregon, has been struck and killed by a train.

Sgt. Don Parise said sheriff’s officers responded to the crash scene Tuesday night.

The boy was not immediately identified pending notification of relatives.

Additional details were not immediately available.

Gervais is about 30 miles south of Portland.
